Job Description

MK’s Product Managers are responsible for managing MK’s platform development and implementation, as well as lead and oversee customer implementations. Product Managers work closely with user experience designers, product coordinators, business analysts, software engineers, and customer stakeholders; to ensure that deliverables fulfill scope, on time, and within budget. You must be skilled at getting high performance and thoughtfulness out of teams to turn ideas into executable project plans. A passion for actively keeping teams motivated, resolving conflicts, and assisting with difficult decisions is required. You will spend a significant amount of your time gathering requirements and leading cross-functional initiatives, which span the breadth of the company.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Enhance and build out repeatable project management routines for our fast-paced, agile delivery model
  • Drive operational excellence in the development team through identification and execution of opportunity areas that create efficiency, remove obstacles, or create improved processes and approaches to the business.
  • Ensure every customer receives MK’s world class service regardless of size
  • Create detailed requests for information (RFI) to gather customer requirements
  • Translate customer requirements into features with time/cost estimations
  • Work with engineering teams to scope, design, and launch new features
  • Write clean code to develop functional web applications
  • Troubleshoot and debug applications
  • Perform UI tests to optimize performance
  • Define implementation terminology between customer and MK
  • Set up project plans with prioritized phases, involve all relevant stakeholders and ensure technical feasibility
  • Manage end-to-end project plans and ensuring on-time delivery
  • Conduct a gap analysis between the customer’s requirements and MK’s existing systems
  • Schedule and take notes for customer implementation calls
  • Drive functional and technical delivery of key team and company-wide initiatives, while ensuring resource availability and allocation
  • Own and execute multiple enterprise-level projects simultaneously
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
  • Report MK’s release notes to customers in production
  • Provide ‘Bug Reports’ to customers in production
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Has proven working experience as a project manager in the FinTech sector
  • Has a background in business, management, budgeting, and analysis
  • Has great educational background, preferably in the fields of computer science or engineering for technical project managers
  • Has solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software development, common full-stack languages (Java, Groovy, Kotlin, Python, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.), and web technologies
  • Is located in San Diego
  • Has the ability to travel
  • Has excellent customer-facing and internal communication skills
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Has drive and passion when managing multiple enterprise-level technology projects
  • Has superb organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Is proficient with G-Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.)
  • PMP, PRINCE II, or Scrum Master certification is a plus
  • Ability to influence and drive change. Have effective project management, problem-solving and analysis skills, combined with developed business judgment.
  • Positive attitude, team player, adaptable, resourceful, and self-starter who is able to work independently
